Engineer (Computer Science)

Coherent Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineer/CS candidate in the San Diego area to support Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in the planning, testing and integration of Modernized GPS User Equipment (MGUE).  This individual will be responsible for developing modeling and simulation capabilities including real-time control and integration of GPS simulators and receivers and the modeling of platform systems and subsystems.  

Education/Certifications:

  • BS or MS in EE or Computer Science from an accredited college/university

Experience:

Individual will have a strong academic and analytical background with:

  • An ability to work in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
  • Hardware, firmware, software and systems engineering, design and integration.  
  • Strong background in C++ and being familiar in Object Oriented design, Windows and LINUX operating systems administration as well as Microsoft products.  
  • Modeling and simulation capabilities including real-time control and integration of GPS simulators and receivers within hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and the modeling of avionics systems and subsystems.  
  • Experience developing laboratory enhancements for emerging advancements in GPS technology and qualifying system-level specifications and ICDs for new GPS test and evaluation systems.
  • Experience in refactoring source code to the latest operating systems and integrated development document.
  • Existing Security Clearance

Individuals with the following experience is a plus:  

  • Design experience with the Advanced Global Navigation Simulator (AGNS), AGNS Test Station (ATS) or any simulated GPS space segment or user segment simulators.
  • Familiarity with the development of the GPS Modernization Receiver Test Asset (MRTA), Modernization Signal Test Asset (MSTA) and ATS programs.

U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
