Position Title
Senior Principal Aerospace Engineer
Job Description
CTSi has emerging opportunities for a Senior Principal Aerospace Engineer with recent experience in aircraft parameter identification using flight test data. Key competencies sought include the following:
Flight test planning for aerodynamic paramter identification
Flight test data processing
Mathematical analysis of aerodynamic paramter identification algorithms
Aerodynamic stability and control estimation using aerodynamic parameter estimates
Flight Simulation
Education
MS in Aerospace Engineering. Candidates holding a BS in Aerospace Engineering will be considered with commensurate work experience
Experience
Three years experience for a candidate holding a BS degree
Required Skills
Developing mathematical models of systems based on physical principals. Programming mathematical models in Matlab, Mathematica, and/or similar tools
Building numberical simulations using mathematical models in M-format, Simulink, or other simulation engines
Assessing time response characteristics from simulation data
Visualization using Matlab or other commercial 3D visualization tools
Processing of large flight test data sets using Matlab and/or custom programs
Extraction of physical paramtere models from large flight test data sets
Desire to learn the Systems Identification of Parameters for AirCraft (SIDPAC) toolset; to develop custom applications built on SIDPAC; and train others in their use
Desired Skills
Experience using SIDPAC or similar tools in a flight test program
Effective communication and writing skills
Effective presentation skills for communication technical information to internal and external customers
Productive within a structured Systems Engineering process environment including a task oriented, value based management system
Engineering process environment including a task oriented, value based management system
Ability to interact with multidisciplinary terms of system design professionals, including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers
Able to work with Business Development and Program Management to follow, asses and help win new programs
Be able to obain a Secret Clearance
Interest, willingness, or skill in teaching and training new engineers.
