Avionics Test Engineer

CTSi is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer with expertise in testing complex military systems, integrating, and testing electrical equipment components, developing, leading, and reporting on system and component test events. The individual will design, implement, and lead the execution of military aircraft hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing in government and corporate laboratories. The individual must be an expert in developing, testing and troubleshooting MIL-STD-1553 or similar multiplex databuses, with the proven capability to plan, build, conduct, and document avionics systems and component tests. The individual should be experienced in test article configuration control, analog and digital bus and network monitoring and simulation devices, and working with subject matter expert testers and electronics technicians.

The individual will conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, and materials. The individual will coordinate test requirements, determine test, and conduct system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown. The individual will conduct tests, analyze data and document results, participate in test readiness reviews, and troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test-related problems.

Education:

  • The position requires a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.

Experience:

  • A total of at least 5 years of professional engineering experience that, with a minimum of 2 years testing military avionics or developing MIL-STD-1553 or similar multiplex databus systems. Experience testing military avionics in a government facility is desired.
