Image Processing Engineer

Participate in a team environment to design, develop, and test image-based navigation systems. Design and develop video and image processing algorithms with an emphasis on real time object detection and tracking. Implement and test image processing software. Analyze imaging test data and measure performance against requirements. Recommend imaging optimization techniques. Candidate will work with experienced image processing subject matter expert.

Education:

· BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or other related discipline from a school where the Accreditation Board accredited the specific curriculum for Engineering and Technology (ABET).  

Experience:

  • Two (4) years of experience in image processing, computer vision, and software development.
  • Experience in target object detection and discrimination, preferably in degraded visual environments.
  • Experience with image processing for real time tracking systems.
  • Knowledge in sensor fusion techniques, as in combining motion from vision with inertial sensors, is desired.
  • Experience in C++ and OpenCV preferred.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Python preferred.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
  • Position requires a proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be productive with little supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current DOD security clearance a plus.
