Coherent Technical Services, Inc is seeking a Power Systems Design Engineer that will contribute on programs to design power supply Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for integration into box level solutions. The candidate will also contribute power expertise such as power management, efficiency analysis and component selection to the other CCAs in the box that the power supply is powering. Power Engineers are involved from the conceptual development (system level block modelling and requirement generation) through the preliminary and detailed designs, the Worst-Case Analysis of these designs and into test bring-up within our in-house test facilities. The engineer should be a self-starter who can work with a multidisciplinary team to identify potential hurdles in the product development and proactively drive solutions while achieving program cost, schedule, and technical goals. Candidate will gain experience managing schedules, generating responsible bids, assessing technical reviews and work products, implementing the hardware development process, and supporting customers.

Education/Certifications:

• B.S. in electrical engineering from an accredited school.

Experience:

• Prior design experience on development programs
• Power Supply CCA design lead experience
• Experience and willingness for lab testing
• Experience working on larger teams
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter and a good team player
• Ability to multitask effectively with agility
• Ability to mentor and willingness to be mentored
• Strong debug and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated experience leading power supply design in avionics applications
• Prior experience performing detailed analysis and preparing for Design Reviews
• Experience interfacing with complex ICs (FPGAs, SoCs and/or ASICs)
• Experience working to a Hardware Design Process
• Board design experience with Cadence Allegro
