Senior Engineer – NAVAIR, PMA-280

Function:

Applies project principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapon systems. Reviews and prepares project and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies project experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate system design information to a large spectrum of engineering disciplines, as well as customers at all leadership levels.  Interfaces with system or program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of the programs/projects.

Minimum qualifications are:  

Education: BS or BA (MS or MA preferred) degree in engineering, computer science or information systems  

Experience and Skills:

  • (5) years working with DoD (NAVAIR preferred) and shows understanding of the SETR process
  • Requirements management, including capture, decomposition, & tracing;
  • Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) administration, including drafting, processing, & updating, specific to missile systems preferred;
  • System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) event coordination, preparation, & presentation;
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Techniques & Tools (Such as Sparx EA, IBM Rational Rhapsody Designer, NoMagic Cameo, etc.) and can coordinate an implementation strategy for a program using these tools;
  • Excellent organizational skills to keep a program’s system integration & testing efforts on track across multiple geographically separated locations;
  • Engineering Project Management including assignment delegation & monitoring, schedule creation and management, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) creation;
  • Change Request / Change Management (CR/CM) techniques & processes.

Current DOD security clearance.
