Coherent Technical Services, Inc. (CTSi) is seeking an Embedded GNSS/INS (EGI) Engineer in the San Diego area to support Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC)-Pacific in the planning, simulating, and testing of military Emerging Positioning Navigating and Timing (PNT) and EGI technologies and products.
Education:
- BS Degree in a technical discipline such as science, engineering, or mathematics from an accredited college/university
Requirements:
- Embedded GPS/INS expertise with Miniature Inertial Measurement Unit (MIMU) and Embedded GPS Receiver (EGR).
- Experience with EGI MIMU Performance Research, EGI Performance Modeling and EGI Interface Design.
- Experience with navigation system architectures including accelerometer and gyroscope modeling using sensor fusion techniques such as Kalman filtering and Bayesian methods.
- Ability to review and model MIMU performance.
- At least 6 years of experience in electronic systems design engineering.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of Matlab, C, C++ languages, Object Oriented design, UNIX and LINUX operating systems as well as Microsoft products.
- Good knowledge on embedded middleware, applications and services.
- Basic working knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and multimeters for debugging.
- Experience identifying laboratory enhancements for emerging advancements in GPS technology and qualifying system-level specifications and ICDs for new Positioning, Navigating and Timing (PNT) test and evaluation systems.
- Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
Responsibilities:
- Support laboratory modification to model and simulate the MIMU interface and EGI performance.
- Work in a team environment with contractors and govt; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
