Shipboard Platform Integration Engineer

Coherent Technical Services, Inc. is seeking Engineer candidates in the San Diego area to support Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in the planning, testing and integrating Military Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) systems into shipboard platforms. This individual will be working in a government/contractor team environment to integrate the latest PNT technology while ensuring shipboard platform operational and user requirements are met.

Education/Certifications:

  • BS or MS in an engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering; Computer Science; Mechanical Engineering) from an accredited college/university.

Experience:

Individuals will have a strong academic and analytical background with:

  • An ability to work independently and in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
  • Effectively support the integration of GPS Based-PNTS (GPNTS) into various platform configurations to ensure user and sensor physical, electrical and software interface requirements are met.
  • Experience with System Requirements Document (SRD), Interface Control Document (ICD), Technical Data Package (TDP), Installation Requirements Drawings (IRDs), and the establishment of a formal interface agreement(s) for shipboard integrations.
  • Ability to support and develop AutoCAD drawings in accordance with customer standards.
  • Experience on Red Hat Linux System, Real Time Infrastructure (RTI) Data Distribution Service, Quality of Service configuration, RTI Database Integration Service, Web application/service, Network interface, Switch Administration and Management, and Cucumber/Gherkin test scrip language.
  • Existing Secret Security Clearance.

Individuals with the following experience is a plus:

  • Experience in GPS technology and qualifying system-level specifications and ICDs for new GPS test and evaluation systems.
  • Test and Evaluation, development of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Conduct of Operational Assessments and Evaluations, and working with OPTEVFOR.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Collaborator, Teamwork Cloud, and CMPro.
