Coherent Technical Services, Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in managing the development of a consolidated positioning, navigation, and timing solution for use in autonomous maritime operations. The Systems Engineer will contribute to the development and sustainment of advanced GPS-based Positioning Navigation and Timing Unmanned Surface Vessel (GPNTS USV) technology solutions in support of Department of Defense programs. This role focuses on devising and testing secure, reliable, and cost-effective platform-based solutions to supply position and time while facing modern day electromagnetic warfare threats. The Systems Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidates should bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate within the requirements of a DoD contractor environment. Candidates must be able to assert technical positions and address critical commentary in real-time during in-person and virtual meetings. During stakeholder reviews, candidates must be capable of articulating programmatic positions as directed by appropriate authorities.
Education:
- BS or MS in engineering, computer engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college/university
Specific Duties:

- Monitor and provide guidance in the development of technical solutions by third-party contractor organizations.
- Analyze reports and raw data to assess the conformance of systems to their specifications.
- Propose design improvements balancing technical tradeoffs with fiscal constraints.
- Mediate and drive technical debates to resolution.
Skillsets:
- Author technical and programmatic documentation using MS Word and MS Power Point tools and formatting templates. MS Project familiarity is desired.
- Search for, assimilate, and compare, communication requirements across multiple interface specifications to assess and summarize theoretical compatibility of systems.
- Ability to collaborate on projects in a team environment.
Experience:
- Experience in elements of DoD Acquisition in one or more of the following areas: Air Vehicle, Cryptographic Systems, Systems Engineering, Aircraft Integration, Testing, Design, Program Acquisition, Hardware/Software Design, UML Modeling, Data Modeling, DoDAF 2.0, Interoperability, etc.
- Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
- DOD security clearance required and having one is a plus.
