Systems Engineer (MGUE-GPNTS Integration and Test Support)

Coherent Technical Services, Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in designing and testing critical solutions for maritime positioning, navigation, and time synchronization. The Systems Engineer will contribute to the development and sustainment of advanced technology solutions in support of Department of Defense programs. This role focuses on devising and testing secure and cost-effective platform-based solutions to maintain awareness of position and time while facing modern day electromagnetic warfare threats. The Systems Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidates should bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate within the requirements of a DoD contractor environment. Candidates must be able to assert technical positions and address critical commentary in real-time during in-person and virtual meetings.

Education:

  • BS or MS in EE, ME or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university

Specific Duties:

  • Consistently deliver high-quality work as an individual contributor.

  • Independently develop technical expertise through analysis, interpretation, and application of guiding documentation.
  • Critically analyze solution approaches to identify advantages and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Devise and author plans and procedures for the evaluation of performance and functionality of technical solutions.
  • Oversee and provide guidance in the conduct of product validation and verification activities.
  • Analyze reports and raw data to assess the conformance of systems under test to their specifications.
  • Propose design improvements for both products and test capabilities.
  • Lead technical discussions and build consensus.

Skillsets:

  • Author technical and programmatic documentation using MS Word and MS Power Point tools and formatting templates.
  • Interpret samples of digital communications using a variety of data type structures.
  • Ability to collaborate on projects in a team environment.

Experience:

Individual will have a strong academic and analytical background with:

  • 3 – 5 Years of hardware, firmware, software and systems engineering, design and integration experience.
  • Experience evaluating integration impacts of evolving PNT technologies to ensure operational and interoperability requirements are met while ensuring integrity of navigation signals and minimal impacts to host platforms.
  • Client facing experience coordinating interface requirements with Military Departments (MILDEPs), inter-agencies, and international organization to ensure integration and interoperability of systems.
  • Experience developing hardware, software system specifications and interface control documentation.
  • Familiarity with Matlab, C, C++, Object Oriented design, UNIX and LINUX operating systems as well as Microsoft products.
  • An ability to work in a team environment; provide constructive alternatives/approaches to solving issues; be flexible; have a strong sense of urgency for critical tasks; and must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing schedule and communicating process.
  • Active Security clearance
