Test Engineer

CTSi has an immediate opportunity for a Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer. The successful candidate will assist the Navy customer by planning, coordinating, executing, and analyzing the test effort for an Integrated Product Team within a major NAVAIR program. This testing will be primarily located at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in a laboratory environment. The candidate will support air systems IPT as the test engineer for software deliveries from government and contractor agencies. Coordinate with the government customer and participate with prime contractor, support contractors, and other government agencies involved to complete all aspects of the Testing. Support test planning by writing test plans, procedures, and other documentation; preparation and review of detailed specifications, integration of different equipment and software being developed by the various team participants; execution of testing; post-test data analysis; test reporting; as well as test process development and improvement, and any training required to execute or support test and evaluation activities.

Duties include, development of verification matrices, test methodologies, test plans and reports. Support development of engineering procedures and controls within the test realm, participate in management of IPT efforts, and assist with problem resolution. Successful candidate will have experience with test and evaluation of using commercially available toolsets along with custom build test toolsets, including those used to support the test execution of prototype airborne avionic software packages along with hardware in the loop (HITL) test beds. The ideal candidate will possess 5 or more years of related experience in the test and evaluation field.

Education/Certifications:

· BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering/Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. Work experience in any of these areas can be accepted as this requirement.

Experience:

This position requires 5 years of engineering experience primarily in the T&E area. Experience with T&E of small, multi-organization teams. Comprehensive test planning and analysis experience. At least 3 years’ experience in the Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment performing test engineering activities. At least three (3) years of experience in the area of developmental test (DT), system test, and evaluation of electronic systems and subsystems. Experience involving carrier air traffic patterns and airspace a plus.

Desired Experience:

Detailed knowledge of the development of test artifacts and processes such as software test plans, procedures, and reports. Knowledge of Aircraft Carrier airspace and use, Carrier Controlled Approach patterns (Case I, II, and III), and air traffic control procedures (afloat and ashore). Specific experience in the process of developing such test artifacts from system design documentation a plus. Ability to perform in an Integrated Product Team environment required.

U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
